The Arabian Mission came to Bahrain in the 1890s thanks to donations from sponsors.

We continue to be grateful to our sponsors. As a not-for-profit institution, American Mission Hospital has no shareholders to pay dividends to, and relies on sponsors to assist with building projects and purchases of medical equipment.

The AMH Island Classic Charity golf tournament is the hospital’s main fundraising activity.

It was first held in February 1997 and has become not just one of Bahrain’s major sporting events, but also one of the most enjoyable. It is now held annually in November at His Majesty’s private golf course.

Sponsors are also invited to the Gala Dinner held after the event.

Funds raised in the first 5 years were used to expand the hospital facilities. Funds currently raised by the AMH Island Classic Charity golf tournament are used for purchasing much-needed equipment for the hospital.
